The Mission Trip

I've never really been fond of air travel, new places, different cultures, humidity, sunburn, mosquitoes, or discomfort in general (of any kind).

That makes the Son of God's infinite descent to us that much more incredible to me. He took the form of a servant (Philippians 2:5-8) and left the comforts of heaven that we might know his grace (2 Corinthians 8:9). He did it for the joy set before him (Hebrews 12:1-2). He did it for the glory of God (John 12:27-28).

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. - 2 Corinthians 8:9

The gift of knowing God's glorious grace (Ephesians 1:5-6), Christ's example (John 13:15), his love for the lost (Luke 15:7), and so many more reasons compel us to care about world missions. Though it is a very small reflection, this is why I went to Uganda. I believed that there would be more joy in glorifying God, trusting his promises, being obedient, watching the Spirit work, and imitating Christ than in the fleeting comforts that were so hard (in my weak flesh) to leave behind.

Now I pray that God would use these videos in even the smallest way to help inspire others to be a part of God's plan to reach the nations.

The Videos

The three videos highlight different aspects of Tom and Patty Maxham's biblical counseling training. Their training is raising up pastors and leaders in Uganda who can counsel the people in their churches with the word of God. Tom and Patty can use these videos to raise awareness, fundraise for the work, and recruit more biblical counseling trainers to go with them to Uganda.

The members of Sovereign Hope have been so generous in their prayers and support throughout this project. I've been humbled again and again. And now that the videos are finished, my prayer for Sovereign Hope is that God would use these short little videos to further stir our hearts with worship to God, compassion for the world, and a desire to glorify and enjoy him in world missions.
